Double-fisting two of her favorite sugary Starbucks drinks, Britney Spears ventured out on a coffee run in Studio City, California on Friday (September 26).

Enjoying the comfortably warm temperatures, the “Gimme More” singer sported a light yellow tank top as she was escorted out to the car by one of her handlers.

Earlier today, Britney’s brand new song “Womanizer” finally made its release, four days later than scheduled due to an unexpected leak of the tune on the Internet.

According to Reuters reports, “The song is an upbeat if slightly repetitive electropop number lasting about 3:40. It comes off Spears’ album “Circus,” which is set to be released on her 27th birthday on Dec. 2. Britney Nominated Twice At MTV EMAs

We did it! Britney fans have nominated Britney for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards! Britney is currently nominated for Best Act of 2008 as well as the coveted Album of the Year award according to Musicweek.

Britney will be competing against the likes of Alicia Keys ("As I Am"), Coldplay ("Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends"), Duffy ("Rockferry") and Leona Lewis ("Spirit") for Album of the Year.

"The range of this year's finalists really does demonstrate the breadth of taste of the MTV audience," says MTV Europe Music Awards executive producer Richard Godfrey.

It has not yet been announced if Britney will be nominated in her third category for Best Act Ever.

The 2008 EMAs are set to air on November 6th of this year in Liverpool. This is not the only overseas affair Britney has ties to. Extratv.com has confirmed Britney will perform on British show X-factor later this year. "Yes, I think Britney Spears is going to perform on 'The X Factor,'" judge Simon Cowell revealed. When asked how Cowell managed to snag Spears, he replied, "We didn't GET her. She's got a record coming out. We have the number one show in England. It's the best show for her to perform on. We're absolutely thrilled to have her."

Maybe she'll kill two birds with one stone and make a surprise appearance at the EMAs after her performance? One can dream...

Britney and ex-husband Kevin are 'undergoing couples' counselling'

What a difference a year makes. Twelve months ago, Britney Spears was a lost cause - a tragic figure of fun who lost custody of her two young sons in a blaze of flashbulbs and disastrous publicity.

But the pop starlet has made a remarkable comeback in recent weeks, triumphing at the MTV Video awards, losing her excess weight - and now she is to take her rehabilitation a step further.

In a shock new move she and her ex-husband Kevin Federline are considering getting back together, it has been reported by America's National Enquirer.

The two are reportedly undergoing couples counselling to rebuild their relationship in the hope that they can raise their two sons as a family.

'Part of their therapy involves going on formal dates and Britney is so excited,' a source told the magazine. 'She's never stopped loving Kevin or hoping they'd get back together.

'Kevin still loves Britney too and if all goes well after six months of counselling they'll move back in together with the boys.'

Britney and Federline's three-year marriage ended in a bitter divorce in July last year, followed by a custody battle over sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James.

But insiders say things have changed since the end of the court case.

'Britney's dad first talked to Kevin about reconciling with her last spring. He was really noncommital at the time because he and Britney were still at odds over custody.

Britney Goes to Market to Sell Her House

Britney Spears is closing the door on the Summit.

The 26-year-old pop star has put her estate in the gated Beverly Hills community, the same residence over which helicopters circled to better chronicle her meltdown in January, on the market for $7.9 million, E! News confirmed Tuesday.

Spears bought the house in December 2007 for about $7 million. She had quietly been shopping the property since June but there were no takers, according to a source, prompting her decision to publicly list the home with Sotheby's International Realty.

The Mediterranean-style mansion measures 7,500 square feet, comprising six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms, as well as a library, media room and maid’s quarters. A second-floor balcony overlooks an open living room and kitchen with an adjacent screening room. There are also a pool and hot tub in the backyard, according to the Los Angeles Times' Hot Property Blog, which first reported the real estate shakeup.

While Spears may have sold millions of records, she hasn't been a hit with some of her neighbors, namely the ones who've complained about the constant paparazzi presence and, in less happy times, the ambulances and cop cars that made a visit or two to the Summit earlier this year.

Neighbor Ed Mc McMahon, for one, has publicly cited Spears as one of the reasons why in the past two years he has not received a single offer on his 7,000-square-foot home that recently sold for more than $3 million less than its original asking price.

Calls to Calabasas realtor Tomer Fridman of Ewing & Associates, Sotheby's International Realty, for comment were not immediately returned.

Spears has been said to be shopping for new digs in Malibu-adjacent Calabasas, an upper-class enclave in the San Fernando Valley that's just teeming with gated communities and young families.

In asking a court commissioner to approve the transaction, Spears' camp stated that she was seeking a "lower density, more quiet and less trafficked neighborhood, that is also more accessible to parks and recreation areas" to better suit her little ones, 3-year-old Sean and 2-year-old Jayden.

A source said, "She is finally getting herself back on the straight and narrow, but is still finding it hard to trust people again.

"The fact someone has secretly recorded rehearsals and leaked her single on to the interney has really upset her.

"She's really nervous about her comeback, probably more than last time.

All Mixed Up: New Britney Single Delayed

The clubs won't be spinning Britney Spears' new single this weekend.

According to label sources, the official premiere of "Womanizer," Spears' first single off of her upcoming album Circus, has been pushed back due to an undisclosed issue with "the mix"—i.e., not Britney's vocals, per se, but rather how all facets of the track sound together.

Originally set to drop this morning, the masterminds at Jive Records' Zomba Label Group are holding the song for at least another week, meaning radio stations won't be spinning the tune until Sept. 29 at the earliest.

"The mix was not finalized," a source told E! News.

Meanwhile, "Womanizer" isn't a complete mystery to fans anxious for Brit to give 'em more. A fuzzy 40-second clip hit the Internet last week after an intern at a Nashville radio station recorded the tune while previewing it over the phone and posted the snippet on the station's website.

Which promptly removed it at Zomba's behest.

Spears' sixth studio album, Circus, is being prepped for a Dec. 2 debut to coincide with the comebacking pop star's 27th birthday.

Britney Spears engaged in a spot of horseplay this weekend.

No, the recovering pop starlet was not getting into a scuffle with photographers again.

In fact the 26-year-old was a guest at a charity Polo match in Los Angeles.

Sporting wavy hair and large-rimmed sun glasses, Britney looked the picture of elegance at the Polo in the Palisades event at the Will Rogers Polo Club.

With the perfect polo poise, the Toxic star showed of her honed figure in a skin-tight blue top and casual jeans.

The singer was accompanied by father Jamie at the event which had a team playing called the Spears Family.

It was sponsored by the Promises Foundation - a LA-based charity which helps Miriam's House, a home for recovering mothers and their children.

Britney’s “Womanizer” Preview Is Only A Rough Mix

Gossip blogs and celebrity Web sites lit up Friday when a 37-second, static-filled snippet of the first single from Britney Spears’ upcoming album, Circus, was briefly posted on a radio station’s Web site before being removed.

The snippet of disco-inflected track, called “Womanizer,” was briefly posted on the Web site of Nashville radio station 107.5-FM The River before being taken down, although at press time the clip could still be found elsewhere online.

Based on the brief snippet, the Outsyders-produced song is a bouncy dance track with a sing-song chorus that frequently repeats the title; Britney coos about a possible lover who has a reputation of being a womanizer.

According to Britney’s label, the station obtained the snippet by recording a phone call in which a radio rep played a rough mix of the song for people at the station — which seems likely, judging by the horrendous sound quality of the clip. At the label’s request, the station removed the clip from its Web site.

Fans won’t have to wait long for the song’s official release, which takes place on Monday. The album follows on December 2, Britney’s birthday.

Along with the Outsyders, collaborators on the album include Keri Hilson, Sean Garrett, Rodney Jerkins, Lil Jon, Nate “Danjahandz” Hills [who helmed "Gimme More"] and Dr. Luke [who wrote and produced the album's title track], Guy Sigsworth, Bloodshy & Avant [who produced past hits "Toxic" and the big VMA winner "Piece of Me"] and Max Martin [who wrote "... Britney was spotted at the Mondrian Hotel for dinner this evening after her Starbucks run and shopping spree at Calypso earlier this afternoon.

Dressed in a black dress, Britney was photographed leaving the hotel with her bodyguard as tonight’s chauffeur.

Britney was last seen at the Mondrian two days ago in between auditions at the International Dance Academy. Britney, who is currently searching for dancers to appear in her next music video, may possibly be rehearsing at the hotel in secret.

Retail therapy: Britney did a spot of shopping in West Hollywood after practising her dance moves at a nearby studio yesterday

She was seen checking the damage to her own car from the fender-bender.

The owner of the other car filed a police report and Britney was charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving without a valid license.

But the hit-and-run charges were dismissed in October last year after the chart-topper paid an undisclosed sum to the other driver.

The Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed Britney had never been issued a California license, even though she has had homes in LA for years.

State law requires drivers to apply for a license within 10 days of moving to California.

Britney passed the test to get her California license soon after her fender-bender.

Despite her legal woes, Britney was out and about shopping in Los Angeles yesterday.

Looking toned and healthy in jeans and a vest, the pop star spent time perusing the latest fashions in West Hollywood store Calypso.

Later that night, she met friends for drinks at the Mondrian Hotel bar, dressed in a little black dress, which showed off her toned legs.

Mama Spears: ‘We had no control’ over Britney

Lynne Spears was on the Today show Wednesday morning (September 17, 2008) to promote her upcoming tell-all book about being mother to pop music’s biggest punchline, Britney Spears.

Lynne told Today show host Meredith Vieira that the reason for publishing her book ‘Through the Storm’ was because she wanted to tell her family’s version of the stories written in tabloids.

“I wanted people to see my family as we really are,” Lynne said.

Mama Spears started work on a book of poems and memoirs five years ago then suddenly felt inspired to ’set it straight’ following Britney’s highly publicized visit to the barber in 2007.

Among the topics Lynne discussed: Britney’s hair shaving incident, Jamie-Lynn’s teenage pregnancy, Lynne’s divorce from her alcoholic ex-husband and Britney’s future.

Lynne describes the time she lost parental control of Britney during the Rolling Stone photo shoot.

“We didn’t really know what we were doing,” Lynne told Vieira. “We were kind of in shock at what was going on and in awe at the same time.”

“We didn’t have any choice as to what was printed or what pictures were chosen…We had no one that could tell us what we were supposed to be doing.”

The racy Rolling Stone cover helped catapult Britney from American tween sensation to sexy international pop icon at only 17-years-old.

Lynne admits that her family underestimated the power of fame and its negative impact on Britney.

“[In the begining] It seems that everything is fabulous. ‘Oh wow look at the trips that she [Britney Spears] gets to go on and look at all the wonderful things that she’s exposed to and all the wonderful people she gets to meet.’ There was that honeymoon period where it looked like she could do no wrong.”

“Then there is that ugly side of fame that turns and we weren’t ready for that either.”

The book was rumored to be a parenting book (insert joke here), but Lynne worked quick to point out that the idea for the book was never about giving tips on raising kids.

Should Lynne have traveled with her daughter after Britney made her entry into celebrity at 15-years-old? Lynne says:

“You know what Meredith, you can say ’shoulda, woulda, coulda.’ It’s kind of like Britney was sent out into the world prematurely. Our kids go to college, you don’t really know what they’re doing in college, do you?…Did I want to be there? — of course. But was it feasible? — it wasn’t.”

No regrets there.

About her relationship with Britney, Lynne says “it’s wonderful.”

Despite both Spears siblings looking plain worn out, the insider told that the duo's interaction was "sweet and genuine" as they chatted quietly before making their exit.

Britney has reclaimed her title as the "Most Searched Person on the Internet," taking the "achievement" away from socialite Paris Hilton who ranked first last year.

"The record is based on statistics from search engine Google and denotes a different type of accolade to the esteemed achievements that Britney accomplished with her music between 2000 and 2001, such as Best Selling Album by a Teenage Solo Artist (2000), Best Selling Album in the US by a Female Artist (2000), Best Selling Teenage Artist (2001), Fastest Most No. 1 Singles on UK chart by a teenage Female Solo Artist (2000)."

Britney Spears Donates Painting for Charity

Britney Spears and her family have donated an autographed portrait of the singer for charity, with a starting bid of $10,000 on eBay.

The 5-by-4-foot oil painting of the pop star was given to the L.A.-based Promises Foundation, which provides behavioral health services to low-income women and their children.

"The Spears family gave us this painting out of their generosity," says the organization's director, Lisa Rogg. "It was their idea for the auction."

The eBay page shows several photos of Spears standing next to the artwork, as well as a letter of authenticity from her father, Jamie, which states: "I hereby verify that the portrait of my daughter, Britney, has been in our home since it was completed by the Daniel Maltman Studio."
